Katie Jackson is an Australian underwater photographer and ocean storyteller whose work explores the connection between people and the natural world.
Working across ocean lifestyle campaigns, editorial features and fine art, she creates imagery that blurs the line between body and landscape.
Katie’s relationship with the ocean runs deeper than photography. As a surfer and trained freediver, much of her time is spent in the water observing its rhythm. This lived connection with the natural world shapes the way she works, approaching the environment not simply as a backdrop but as a collaborator that influences every image.
She is particularly interested in the restorative power of natural environments and the way time in the ocean can offer an antidote to the pace and pressure of modern life. This perspective allows her to understand the emotional intention behind a campaign or story and translate it into imagery that feels both aspirational and deeply human.
Having spent several years living and working in the south of France before returning to Australia, Katie brings a global perspective to her work while remaining deeply connected to coastal culture.
Today she lives on the Australian coast with her three children, continuing to explore the ocean as both subject and source of inspiration.
Her work sits between fine art and high end editorial, collaborating with ocean, lifestyle and luxury brands, publications and private collectors to create imagery that moves beyond surface aesthetics and into something more elemental.
Being in front of Katie's camera was such a beautiful experience. As a professional model I've worked with 100s of photographers and this shoot was one of my favourites. Katie is full of creative and fun energy which makes the photoshoot and the resulting images truly beautiful.
